This was the first time I saw any colors other than green. It was nothing short of spectacular. I recommend everyone make a point of seeing these bad boys at some point in your life. Apparently Aurora activity is cyclical and every 11 years or so reaches it’s peak. This year marks the most recent 11 year peak. For those looking to travel north to bare the freezing cold for hours on end doing nothing but staring at the sky next year, while not as good as this past year should still be pretty rewarding. Better than any fireworks, hands down.
