Olive Ridley Turtle on the Beach

The Turtle:

The Eggs:

These are of poor quality. I forgot the tripod plate on a lens I didn’t bring for my tripod.  Boo hoo. Either way it was a great experience.  How often do you get to see the endangered Olive Ridley Sea Turtle, let alone get to take a crappy picture of it.  Unfortunately this was not during an arribada where hundreds if not thousands of Olive Ridley turtles come ashore to lay their eggs.  After the females undergo this exhausting experience they return to the ocean only to be met with a barricade of male turtles waiting to mate with them before they can return to the open ocean. Tough life.  But when you travel the world’s oceans it becomes difficult to find females.  It makes sense if they want to be guaranteed to find a female to go to the only place on earth at the only time of they year where all the females gather.
